Subject: Re: rear heater must be on?
Comments: To: John Meeks <vanagon@GMAIL.COM>

I don't agree at all on the flow/no flow thing, hot VS cold coolant running or not in the rear heater core, or front for that matter. I have a brand new rear valve and heater in front of me, i can not blow air in it when close.

If any chemist on the list, speak!

Those heater core are simply old and if i may add, not so well located (they always leak at the bottom), everytime i fix one or remove one it's full of... stuff under this one, water, salt, coolant, coke, coffe.

Anyway, what is the purpose of that thread? if it leak, change it or remove it. You will be good for another 15 years.
