I checked the resistance between the negative (ground) therminal on the fuel pump and the negative terminal on the battery and got 0.01ohms of resistance.

I also tried replacing both relays (temporarily) and that did not fix the problem. BUT i was able to get the car to start and run perfectly, and start over and over for a few minutes, then it returned to its state of death.

I have not yet run a new ground wire to the engine (from the fuel pump) but its looking dismal as that being the problem.
