The manager of Suburban propane:

12642 Interurban Ave S Tukwila, WA 98168 (206) 244-1530

Told us that he could only sell us a new tank with OPD in it if he had them in stock.

He flat out said that the new ASME RV tanks have Overfill Protection Devices or OPD's.

He said that the tanks on our Vanagons are grandfathered in, and are OK to use as long as nothing is replaced.

He told us that if he were to remove the Autostop valve, and replace it with a standard fill valve and 80% valve, that he would be breaking the law and so "no sir. I did'nt hear you say that you came here today for a new valve. "

I don't remember his name but he's been in the business for 30 years he said.

We then went to Auburn RV and they told us to go to Suburban Propane. They will just send you back and forth around here.

In the end, I just gave my friend a valve from an old Type 2 camper tank.

That's the run-around you get here.
