I used to work for a distributor that sold Graber (now Saris) products and you might check for dealers carrying these:

It appears that you might be able to rest the lower legs on the bumper to help distribute the weight, but I would test-fit before buying.

I use one of their Bones 3-bike carriers (carrying only two bikes) and have not had problems with denting. I have it adjusted so that the lower feet rest in the crease on the hatch.

If I were going for maximum ease and convenience I would likely get a receiver hitch and spring for a swingaway carrier that leaves the hatch unladen. Not the cheapest setup, though.
