It's easy to remove the duct cover in fronta the shifter and either stuff the ducts with whatever material floats yer boat, or tape over them with duct tape. I left mine covered up for _years_ until I had to go to New York in March, but your climate may vary.

Mine has an automatic transmission. It's not immediately obvious how to remove the duct cover in front of the shifter. Am I overlooking the obvious? I would cheerfully tape over the footwell outlets. Rarely use them for heating, always aware of them when it gets hot outside and the warm air blows on my poor widdle toesies.
