My door locks and power mirrors gave up the ghost (gradually) a while ago, and I love to think that a simple wire splice would have them resurrected!

Those wire loom boots between the door and door jamb can be removed by un-plugging the ends of the wires under the dash, pulling the wires and boot out from under the dash, then pulling the boot out of the door connection, then you can pull all the wires with the plugs on them out of the boot, then repair the wires using crimp butt connectors and new wire if needed. You can put the boot back the same way you took them out, HOWEVER, after having had to remove mine so many times now I got fed up and came up with a much better solution. Cut the two ends off of the boot and use them as grommets in the door and door jam receptacles, run the wires through them, then use split loom of the correct diameter to cover the wires allowing enough length of the split loom to protrude through the ends of the boot you cut off and used at either end. Now you will be able to access those pesky wires between the door and door jamb any 'ol time you want.
