It' commun for starter to leak oil, when new, there is about a quart in it,
that oil last for a long time, it's like oil in trany's...

The Crankshaft seal is NEVER the problem... forget GoWesty BS about that!
That much oil over there is strange???
between trany and engine, on the very bottom part you have a hole... is it
leaking oil? Also, on the engine side, inside eng compartment, close to
trany, left side, there is a hole in the case (maybe with a black plastic
plug), this hole is there to remove the 3 Torque converter screws on
automatic, but all engine case have them.. do you have oil there???
In most case, if it's engine oil, they leak between flywheel and engine
block, but that is not your case! so the only other possibility (if not
trany oil!) is the inner flywheel seal:

This one will leak through the 6 flywheel bold,

scrap the clutch disk and splash everywhere. But i would have suspected
trany oil first! But you said that you lost a lot of oil so that my conclusion.
I would have suspected a "bore hole plug" but it would have leak from that
hole (between trany and engine) first.
Here are all the possibility of oil leak in the bell hoosing:
-Trany main shaft seal
-Engine crankshaft seal
-Flywheel inner seal
-Bore hole plug
-Cam plug
-Crack in case
-Crack in trany case.
