Ok, so I'm sure there are some listers that maybe read my progress reports on resealing the heads on Totoro and thought, "Hmm, sounds like Brendan's having a pretty easy go at this. I wonder what hardship may fall on him before the completion of such a project?" Well. . . .

Using the recommended torque sequence and a bar torque wrench instead of a clicker, I was on the sixth head nut and it was feeling spongey, it would torque up and then when I held it at 36 it would loosen a bit down to about 30 and I'd tighten it up to 36 again it did this a couple times and then it snapped. All the way in the block. Didn't leave anything to grab. I am screwed. Right? What do I do? Is it time for a new engine? Do I get a good long block and rebuild it? HELP!!!!

Brendan.
