That's the color of our '83.5 westy.  I really love the color.  But, my
understanding is that our van was imported from Germany at some point by
a previous owner, so for all I know this color wasn't sold here.  I
haven't seen any other this color here, I don't think...    On some
european websites that have pictures of van get-togethers with lots of
vanagons, I've seen one or two of these in the background.

Apart from how much I do like my green westy, if I had one that was
brown, I would probably take BJ's advice and start loving what I had
(and maybe freshen up the original exterior paint).  I takes lots of
cash to do a "real" paintjob and cover everything.  I would be much less
thrilled about the green vanagon if parts of the interior metal were
still brown.

Just my thoughts.  I'm sure there are lot's of people that have vans
that were repainted different colors and are happy with the results.  If
I bought a van like that, I would start trying to love that too ;)
