Probably an obvious question... '82 westy... when I turn the propane tank valve on, propane comes out of a tiny, rectangular hole just right of the center of the regulator. I assume this means the regulator is shot? I saw Bus Depot sells a replacement, but notes that it is not the same and some relocation of the propane lines is necessary. Has anyone installed this regulator?

Doug, that may be the over pressure valve relief hole. If you just filled your tank and it was very warm out the propane will expand and cause an over pressure situation. The regulator has a relief port which may be the hole your seeing the propane escaping from. It should stop when the pressure reaches normal levels. If this is not the case you can get a new Marshal Brass 290 regulator from most any RV parts counter. You will have to move the lines a bit due to the Marshall Brass 290 being longer than the original Marshall Brass 260 which was shorter and is no longer available.
