Wow! I wish I could see a photo of that! That's exactly what I've been thinking of doing. Would love to have the space to add in a sunroof, but that center AC duct takes up too much space. Anyone have or know of a photo of this in a van? I've even put some thought into if it would be possible to route the cool AC air into the side air vents. I'm not sure that would be possible though, but it certainly wouldn't be that hard to configure some sort of decent looking tubing to channel the AC up front.

The tabs I'm speaking of are just the mounting tabs on the front and rear sections of the AC. Both of them on the rear are broken off and there's only one up front. I'll need to reconstruct them with something strong enough to hold that weight. I still have the pieces, so I'll probably attach them, like you suggested, with some kind of metal home made bracket.

That's why I've been thinking about rebuilding the whole shell for this AC. I'll try to post some pictures of what I come up with.
