That puts the hot air right back into the van. The idea of the exhaust fan mounted in the city water inlet is to get the hot air out of the van. I've tried a fan on the gill over the cabinets and found no apparent difference in performance. Those that have added the exhaust fan to the outside have reported improved cooling especially when the ambient temperature is high.
Ditto - I've had the city water outlet fan mod installed for over two years now and it's one of the best improvements to the Dometic fridge operation.
