Great trip. I wish to do the same in the next few years.
Just curious about your gas mileage average. It seems to
be a bit low. I maybe wrong. Maybe this is normal. Maybe
your westy was fully loaded?
My 83.5 westy with a newly rebuilt and broken-in 1.9 wbx
got 23 mpg on a 96 mile hwy trip from a gas station in
San Jose to another in Oakdale, half way on my way to Yosemite.
It was all freeway driving. Non stop and no stop and go traffic.
I drove mostly between 65 - 70 MPH. There were two long hills
along the way. Had to slow down to 50 MPH climbing and 75 MPH
on the way down. I pumped 4.1 gallon of gas in Oakdale in order
to have a full tank going up to Yosemite without refilling again.
It turned out to be 23 mpg on that 96 mile trip.
