First of all, thank you to all who took the time to respond. I appreciate your help. I've been on this list since 1994 or so.....and the help of the listees on the list is what keeps me here, and in a Vanagon (longer than probably any "sane" person should be - but as Jimmy Buffett said - If we weren't all half crazy, we'd all go insane!)

After changing oil, filters, checking sending units, burning finger tips, cutting finger tips, a couple of Dopple Korns, etc, etc... I woke up this morning and decided to check the wiring in the engine compartment. The two oil sensor wires meet in a connector above cyl. 3. The wires from that connector then meet up in a round connector with approx 8 wires in the junction box on the drivers side front of the engine compartment.

The sending units are ok, so it was now time to check the wiring. I put a test light into the first connector, and grounded it. Started the motor, and at 2700 rpms the buzzer/light came on. So I traced the wiring to the junction box (thank you Rob) and put the test light probe into the middle wire (yellow for high side of oil pressure system). Started the motor, and at 2700...3500....4000 rpm NO BUZZER!!!

Next I took a 3M wire splice and attached it to the yellow wire at the round connector and ran the wire to the dual connector....and NO BUZZER!! Unfortunately I only had one wire splice, so I have to head to the parts store to get some and finish the "repair".

Once I get home from the road trip, I'm going to install an oil pressure gauge. I have the gauge, but need to get the sending unit and extension.

Once again, THANKS!!!

Ric
