I've been battling the same problem and reading the archives for about two
weeks.  Makes replies difficult.
   Yesterday I finally subscribed successfully from a gmail account.

After I switched my email address on gerry to an att account, the vanagon
mail came thru fine for about three days and then just stopped.
I've called att tech support twice and they claim they are not blocking or
disposing of it.
I asked Jim for help and he un and resubscribed me, but that didn't help
either.
  Listserv does not respond to any commands or queries from my att/yahoo
account.
