Yes- that's the mechanical side of it. There's porting an polishing the intake man, bigger injectors, cam timing and cam, turbo.

Then you have the fuel injection side. If you get a programmable ecu such as the Zetech has ( or megasquirt, performance chip,etc), you can get more hp from this engine.

You can blueprint it from top to bottom- I never had the time or money- I just installed it 7 years ago and it's been running well ever since.

You may have to deal with your Diesel fuel tank.

Gasoline has a scouring effect and your tank could have rust and other crud which could plague you for years.

So I also recommend changing to a good used or new gas tank.
