I live at 7000' and often camp for weeks at a time at 8000+'... I have never experienced any problems with the Dometic. One reason may be that at that altitude one usually doesn't need much refrigeration to keep things cold.

No idea if a change in tank pressure would have the effect you describe. I assume the jet change is because of the much lower air pressure at these altitudes so perhaps you're on to something.
