Subject: Oil Buzzer Problem Conclusions...
Content-Type: text/plain; charset="us-ascii"; format=flowed

Hi,

I just got back from a 45 mile road test with my 87 Westy...a combination of back roads and highway....with A/C on, A/C off, cruise on cruise off....speeds between 35 and 70. No buzzer!!! No flickering lights! Hooray! (knock on wood)...

After testing every possible problem, I realize that the only relationship between the smoke/overflow condition (mea culpa) and the buzzer is the following. After the smoking problem, I pulled the spark plugs to see if they were oiled up. I think, while checking #3 plug I probably disturbed the two wire connector which connects the two oil sensor wires to the main wiring harness. I've since by passed that connector and created a jumper which goes from the high pressure sensor to the sensor's wire in the main wiring harness in the junction box.

So our road trip is back on!!

Ric
