This has come up on the list before, within the last 3 years or so. You are not alone in finding that bolt a real PITA. I reccomend searching the archives and finding the thread, quite a few people posted various methods for getting that bolt off. I have alwasy gotten lucky and managed to hold the lower bolt in place with the open end of a wrench. The wrench was only half-ass on the bolt because there is not enough room to really get in there and I was pretty worried that it was going to strip, but it held. Since then I always coat the bolt in anti-seize and it comes out without much a fuss.
