Larry, it can take more than 3k miles to reach the end of break-in. Before the end of 2k the engine is powerless. Very disturbing. I kept on thinking the rebuilt was a failure. I am now fully confident in my 1.9 wasserboxer again.

The 96 mile trip was a routine driving for me. I did not have a golf ball or anything hidden beneath the pedal. It was a 100% hwy driving. I am still trying to find out the mpg number for city driving.
