This was discussed back in October of 2005. The reason I know is because I'm toying with converting my '91 Westy to automatic and having a TDI put in. But the cost is making me rethink this strategy as far as the automatic portion goes.

David Marshall had found a supplier that he could get these from. I don't know if they are still available or not. Look the posts up in the archives by searching for "TDI and automatic" in October 2005.

The cost alone will give you pause for (re)conside- ration.

In my case, it may be better to just garage my Westy for camping only and just get another econo-box. But I really like having my van because of it's versa- tility. But stop and go traffic really wears out my clutch leg.
