I am in the process of replacing all studs (38mm), locknuts, and bolts (30mm). After some searching, I found out that a good choice is SS 316 (A4) grade (better quality than 304/8/9, and also contains molybdenum, which provides "superior" resistance to corrosion) (DIN 931 specification, better quality than DIN 933).

There are all kinds of other stronger and better SSs but they are not easily available and if they are, they are much more expensive.

Combining SS bolts with Copper or Brass nuts should not be your first choice because it weakens the different metals' properties. Try to stick with all SS.

I will be using Loctite Silver Grade Anti-seize to coat the nuts, bolts, and other exhaust parts.

You are not supposed to use regular nuts. Use locknuts and replace them anytime you work on the exhaust. I bought a bag of SS locknuts. Even though, I may go with Frank Condelli's advice and use only 30mm bolts. A little late because I purchased it all, but something to consider.

Enjoy!
