Ben,

I think you should go with the 2.1L engine, and where there would be differences between the 2.1L and 1.9L just make a side note to the effect of the difference. But use the 2.1L as the principal engine. Don't make a separate section for the 1.9L. There are differences, but I don't feel they are sufficient to warrant a separate treatment of the subject.

I think what you are doing is fantastic. Ever so much appreciated.

Are you going to take all this information and eventually coalesce it all into a "Complete Idiot's Guide to Vanagon Maintenance" or something like that? I would buy!
