Subject: Relay PN question. (Load reduction relay. 81 Westy)
Content-Type: text/plain; charset=ISO-8859-1

Hi all.

Sorry for posting such an elementary question, and not searching archives. Kinda under the gun for time.

My wipers/heater fan were working very intermittently. Wasn't the ign. switch. Even though contacts were cleaned, the relay was iffy. Pushed to one side, it worked. New one didn't need that to work, so I replaced it.

I replaced exsisting "Schier" 12V 40 amp relay

P/N: 171 937 503

with a 12V 40 Amp VW/Audi relay

PN: 141 951 253 B

I checked pinout first. It works, but being the type A person (at times) need to know if using this part is ok.

Is relay with different number ok to use?

Many thanks,

Neil.
