I hear ya. There was a tarp about the same size suspended over my van for a while by ropes and bungee's tied off to roof and trees nearby. It actually worked better than the cover and never was a hassle of putting it on or taking it off the van, which is a major pain with car covers. The aesthetics do leave something to be desired...
