Well not as disasterous, but more serious. I took the cylinders/pistons out to extract the broken stud and found a broken ring on one side and a huge crack in the sleeve near the bottom of the stroke that went nearly all the way round. I am stuck now. I haven't the 400-500 bucks for a piston/cyl kit. Any ideas?

Hi Brendan I think the reason the liner is cracked is from taking that one stud out before removing the liner. The threads do not clear the liner and it probably was pushing on the side of it as you turned it past it.

I don't remember was yours a 1.9 or 2.1?

I have my "spare" set of 1.9's I will sell you for $100 plus shipping. I will need to pull them and make sure they are ok first though. Did you end up getting all the studs you need?
