Loren,

I installed mine with the curved cover plate facing up on the closest to center sidewall of the underseat compartment. This places the terminals at the side if the device. Unless you store loose tools under there it shouldn't be a problem. BTW I found two perfectly spaced pre-drilled holes on that sidewall to mount the 1315 using machine screws.

I can send you a pic of the installation if my description was inadequate.
