Guess no one has answered this yet -

It's cleverly hidden behind the 'spring tower' in the left rear wheel well. Remove RR wheel. Undo whatever clamp system holds it to the body.....pull it out, undo hoses from it. - something like that. ( it's good to empty the old fuel filter out backwards and a clean dish and see what's been trapped by the filter . I look for dirt, rust, water, and metal particles ) scott

Volks,

I am trying to replace my fuel filter on my new 87 Syncro, but as I have only owned aircooled, I can not seem to find it. Before or after the fuel pump? Is there a link on the Vanagon.com site for tech procedures? Or perhaps some other site?

Thanks, Matt
