If you like the look, put them on by all means. Just be aware it can cost substantially more in time and money than your original bargain price on the wheels.

As for Mercedes wheels, they do not all need to have their lugholes rebored. Some are made to accommodate both 12mm and 14mm bolts/studs. Some of those used with 12mm bolts have steel inserts which some folks have simply "knock-out". M-class and later model S-cars used 14mm bolts for example. Offset is too large typically but wheels from many of their "sports" packages have more reasonable offsets. The early 15" AMG wheels have a very strong resemblance to the Vanagon factory alloys. The Ronal R9's and Penta wheels likewise look like Vanagon wheels in bigger diameters.
