Subject: Lighting Dometic when already cold. Tip

For those of us with Dometics that are, uh, less efficient, making sure thermostat is turned to "Max" may help when lighting. Especially when fridge already cooled down. i.e. pre cooled from night before on AC.

The flame on mine wouldn't always stay lit when fridge already cold and I was switching to LP. When thermostat turned further clockwise (past point was "cooled" to) and then lit, the flame stayed on.

My theory: when switching from AC to LP and thermostat left at setting used to cool fridge on AC, or set "lower", flame possibly smaller ("pilot" mode. Normal if no cooling power needed at that moment) than when thermostat set higher thus "telling" flame to be bigger to make things cooler.

When cooling needs demand the larger flame, it may help it stay lit when switching modes.

Hope this helps,
