Back when my 83.5 was a daily driver I used chains all the time on my snow
tires.  They were such a pain to put on and take off though. Quite often I
would put them on my van the night before if they were calling for snow. It
was allot easier getting them on with a floor jack then rolling onto them in
the snow.

Ah, the nights standing out in a snowstorm wrestling with frozen chains in
12" of snow. The memories...
