VW determined they could not build it and have it be affordable. I think the cost of that thing was going to be $35,000 base price. Pretty ridiculous. It was kinda neat looking but if you look at the pictures it was pretty small, the rear seats were basically at the back window.

Supposedly VW is having Chrysler build it's next van ( http://www.cbc.ca/money/story/2006/01/05/volks-060105.html ) . I believe it will be a Dodge Caravan with a VW engine minus the sto-and-go.

Leave it to VW to jump into the mini-van market 10 years too late.
