Hi Volks,

This past weekend was quite possibly the best VW event launch I have =20 ever attended. Jerry Baldwin started planning this event back before =20=

BusFusion, and found a great location, matched up the date with some =20 excellent local festivities and put the word out. The result was =20 excellence; through and through.

I'll second all of that. What a great event ! The steak & corn diner coutesoy of Frank, Jerry & Sophie. Great door prizes. Max Burns of Cycle Canada fame was there as he and wife Janet has joined the ranks of VW bus ownership. The pub c-r-a-w-l event, even though the bandshell where the Wilkenson's were playing was full of teeny boppers and the water taxi admiral guy left us stranded downtown, we did manage to find a "ReaL' taxi back to the campground. Saw "Old Man Luedecke" with his mountain banjo and "The Unionist Ministers" What a good time we had !!! Can't wait till next year. "James McKenty and the Spades" doing 49 Diesel Locomotives - awesome.....And our own Doug Alcock got up on the stage tooooooo. They even made an announcement from the main stage about a group of VW nuts making the Festival as a group - yehaa ! AND yes, Gerry Lepage from Sudbury, you are the man, the job you did with the stretch Vanagon is awesome. What great work, two pop-tops, welding and finish perfect. Beautiful and space for a real party ! I have many pics up on Facebook if you want to have a look.
