Subject: 1990 2.1L Digijet European Caravelle wiring diagrams
Content-Type: text/plain; charset=iso-8859-1

Hello again,

I happen to own a 1990 2.1L digijet fuel injection wasserboxer, engine code DJ. It's a European version, where these were manufacured till 1991 and called Transporters, or Caravelles for the deluxe models, while in the U.S. digijets were sold only till 1985.

I've purchased of course the Bentley service manual but it's quite confusing, as it seems my fuel injection system is a hybrid of the older Digijet (only fuel injection is computer-controlled) and the later Digifant (whereas also the ignition).

Also, since it's a late model, many of the other electrical circuits (e.g. A/C) are similar to the later Vanagons, not the 1985 era Digijets.

Talking with Bentley support didn't help because they have no info about the European models, and although I also have a Haynes (European) manual too, it's much less in-depth than the Bentley and also has much less wiring diagrams, most of them even mentioning they're only "typical" and not completely accurate.

Does anyone on the list have an official European Transporter/Caravelle service manual and can help me get the correct diagrams?

Thanks a lot. TM
