Hi Dug: This brings up old memories - I used to hang glide in the Owens Valley - had a brand new 1990 Carat to haul the stuff with. We used Quick-N-Easy (Kwik-N-Easy?) brackets in the gutters, and made the cross piece from 2" square Alum. tubing. There was a bit of turbulence at the front, so I taped on a piece of round cardboard tubing cut in half onto the front of the square, which smoothed flow enough to cut out noise. It was el cheapo too. The brackets would hold a lot of stuff - ragwings and an Easy Riser - I flew the Riser to a world record of Distance To Goal in 1987. Good times.

I know some of you have hang gliders, and it looks like we'll be getting one at some point in the not too distant future.

I was wondering how people put them on the roof of their vans? I've got a camper, so I'm thinking I'd have to reinstall the fake gutters and use some sort of roof rack, but any pointers beyond that? What sort of racks work well? The alternative is a ladder on the roof rack of the Subaru :o)
