The T4 got a 2.5 VW five which proved to be a dog, and Volvo used this engine as well, unfortunately for it.

The T5 has a new 2.5 turbodiesel five, which apparently puts out a bit more power than its Toyota Hiace riva's 2.5 TD four (though the four may put out more torque, with its bigger pots). No contest for interior space, though... the VW's engine placement eats up room.
