Seriously, how could you possibly know the mileage past 150K? That is when the ODO gears usually fail... :)

My 1990 has 244k on the odometer and I just had a problem where the odometer stopped turning and the numbers on the right side seemed to slip down and out of place. When I removed the odometer to inspect the gears/numbers that were on a small rod I found that the rod had come out of the indentation closest to the passenger side of the van. After re-assembling the mechanism all was well for another 94 miles and then the same problem re-occurred. I took everything apart and this time upon further inspection found that one of the gears had slipped down the rod. I tightened this up and inspected the gears for wear (none noted) and all has been well since then. If anyone else on the list has this problem don't throw in the towel. Make sure that the gears that are on the turning digits on the rod are tight against the worm gear. The entire process of disassembly/reassembly took about 30 minutes. I can see where if these gears became loose that there could be permanent damage from the plastic gears not meshing together properly.
