Do you mean to say you got a ticket at 94 mph in your Vanagon? I would be awed if true.

I don't know how you get that mpg from your 2.1L. What number do you use for capacity when computing your mileage? The OEM tank is 16 gal (15.9 gal or 60 L).

I would be thrilled with anything over 19 mpg in my 1990 Carat.

Hi All,

Here is a web site that shows MPGs for almost all cars.

According to fueleconomy.gov, '86 Vanagon 2.1, 2wheel drive is supposed to give 15-17mpg. Mine has ranged between 21-25mpg. Why is that? Is that good or bad (for the van)? I am not the easiest driver on our cars... just got a ticket at 94mph ... but I take good care of them (the cars, that is!).
