I did a few trips in my Caravelle before the trans failed... in fact it failed on one of these trips. Up to about 7 people.

Took 8 people in our narrow-bodied Esttima (=Previa) diesel, about 3000km in 5 days. With (excessive amounts of) luggage for all. Try that in any so-called "minivan" wagon.
