Subject: Conversion Subaru 2.2 engine FS in WA state
Content-Type: text/plain; charset="us-ascii"; format=flowed

Financial problems are forcing me to offer my engine as a turn key motor. If I have a buyer I will unbolt the motor , disconnect the wires and the hoses and sell it as it comes out. The heat shield, burp tank, ECU & harness are included. This is a 1991 Subaru 2.2 engine. For the conversion I used the KEP adapter & flywheel, KEP exhaust & mount system. The Mastercraft stainless steel coolant return line & throttle adapter, the thermostat housing improvement by Tom Shiels and the SmallCar power steering hose. The coolant manifold has been reversed, the oil pan shortened and the coolant tank repositioned. The ECU is under the rear seat in the stock VW position. New OEM timing belt, idlers and seals plus thermostat during conversion. The 2.2 engine has 170k total miles on it, 36k since the conversion.

I need $2500 for the turn key motor.

For $4000 you can drive it away in the 1987 Vanagon it's sitting in now.

The Vanagon seats 7, has the rear jump seats and table with a florescent light above it. The bench seat folds out into a comfortable bed. Power mirrors (heated too). It comes with 5 factory 14" alloy wheels. Tinted windows, fog lights, adjustable arm rests on front seats. 228k miles on it

A new stock clutch/ pressure plate and radiator where put in with the conversion. The rear heater core has since been changed too.

It runs great! Drives like a regular car and gets 23 mpg at freeway speeds.I love it and would not be selling it today if I didn't have to.

The Bad. The windshield is cracked, the power door locks don't work (have to unlock them by hand) and there are a couple of spots of rust, the passenger side window switch needs to be replaced and the high beams don't work.
