OK - I got all of the coolant out of the van per Bentley's procedure and am going to spring for some VW Blue. I do remember what a pain and expense replacing pitted heads was. So, next question - how should I flush? If I stick a garden hose in there I'm going to introduce our nasty mineral laden San Diego water (>200 ppm TDS) into the system. Flush with distilled? Its cheap. Add any flushing products like Prestone's? Just say the heck with it and refill it?? Thanks, Walter '85 Vanagon 1.9L
