Subject: 924 cv joints

Dear listees, I bought a Porsche 924 cv joint, because they supposedly have more articulation than the vanagon cv joints (22 vs 17 deg if I remember right) I have them both sitting in front of me now. I'm surprised how similar they are. The biggest difference is that the balls in the Porsche joint are smaller. So here is the question for the experts: What determines the maximum running angle of a cv joint? BTW does anyone know where that info about articulation (22 vs 17 deg) comes from. I read it on the list but can't find it anymore. I get the suspicion that the Porsche joint isn't any stronger, maybe even the opposite. Take care, Reinhard
