Mark, I know what Bentley manual says. But it takes 6-8 strokes to reach max reading. If you have a Honda you will find it takes 4-5 strokes only. And a very good mechanic that I know of told me (not specifically about Vanagon though) to get reading on the 4th stroke. He was very clear to me that the reading after 4th stroke would be meaningless even the reading is higher. So my question is why Bentley says that.
