I use nitrogen in my tires. At the race track we put nitrogen in the tires for a few reasons: my air tools and in-car jacking system run of the nitrogen bottles in the trailer. less water or humidity is in nitrogen gas. we take our heat cycled tires and put them in bags with nitrogen gas and seam seal them for later use. I have been told that the nitrogen molecule is larger than oxygen and will remain in the tires and bag longer than air, plus it is really cool for resale. most of our bias ply tires only get two heat cycles and then are sold off. most of all there seems to be less variation in tire pressure under race conditions, so you are inflating cold, closer to the actual pressure you would like at speed. dylan Jake de Villiers <crescentbeachguitar@GMAIL.COM> wrote: When I was racing, the Goodyear truck at the race track filled everybody's tires with compressed air, from GT3 privateer to Newman's Turbo 280Z.
