Yes, it is too good to be true. It is NOT a centrifugal supercharger, but it IS a 'squirrel cage' blower fan. A centrifugal supercharger is a positive displacement (compressor) air pump, while a blower fan is a not. If you block or restrict the blower's exhaust side, the fan can't overcome the blockage and force air in, but the positive displacement supercharger compresses the air, no matter what the restriction is.
