Aircooled 911s... they were all SOHC, and changed to DOHC with the 959 (with watercooled heads) and its watercooled descendants. An aircooled 911 head might be modifiable for use on a VW engine; cams might be modifiable to take belt pulleys. Subaru heads might be the berries, but you'd need a watercooling system, with a smallish radiator... and you'd need a Type 4 base (well, who in their right mind would hop-up a Beetle engine anyway? Grenade...). Good for an aircooled T3 or earlier bus? Radiator could be mounted in front of the front torsionbeams. Heck, has anyone tried stretching a VW aircooled by 2 cylinders??
