Hi everyone,

We're currently on a maiden cross-country voyage in our '86 Westy with our toddler and have just discovered that our propane valve does not appear to be working at all -- i.e. the stove lights equally well with the valve turned either on or off. So I'm wondering if anyone can tell me:

1) How serious is this as far as safety issues are concerned? I'm not noticing any smell *inside* the bus -- I noticed a slight smell outside the bus before we left but we had it checked for leaks by an RV place and they said that it was fine;

2) If this is something we should get fixed immediately, can anyone recommend a place in Denver?

I'm currently on the digest since we're on the road, so if replies could be cc'd to my personal address that would be helpful.

Karena, just leave the valve alone and do not worry about it. As long as there are no leaks then your safe. I usually have the valve open on my van all summer as I'm using the propane services almost weekly. Any good RV sales and repairs place will be able to replace that valve for you. Best is to wait until the tank is nearly empty so as not to loose a tank full of propane.

Cheers,
