Yes, conceptually it's kind of an interesting question: what exactly is ambient temperature and how the heck do you measure it? Temperature without wind chill, ice accumulation, UV accumulation, direct sunlight, heat from roadway, heat from lights, heat from radiator, heat from direct sun...

I'm sure the meteorologists have a way to define this, but for us, it's never going to be an exact science, esp. with those cheesy thermometers from Walmart. (Ever notice how they're a few degrees off even when you put the exterior sensor right next to the main thermometer?) All I know is that if you put the sensor above the gas tank, you start think the globe is warming faster than before. It always reads 120 or so, because of heat from the radiator, etc.

Wheelwells, area behind turn signals, space above spare tire all seem like pretty good places, though.
