Didja ever notice that no matter where you are in your home, it's always room temperature. This thread is nearing the edge. Just how important is it to know exactly what the temperature is just outside your van. If you stick your pinkie or something out the wind wing you can probably guess that temp for all reasonably practical purposes. Or you could get a Navajo weather stone.
