Subject: 85 coolant light blinks continuously
Content-Type: text/plain; charset="iso-8859-1"

folks, i'd appreciate any suggestions on this issue... the coolant light on my 85 vanagon blinks continuosly and will not stop. i've searched the archives and am a bit stumped. i've replaced the coolant level sensor, no change. i've removed the relay and the light continues to blink (well, i think i've removed the correct one.... i removed the one stamped "43" and the one stamped "53", just to be safe). i really don't think there is any way the van is running hot (the light is used for hi temp indicator too, correct?), as it blinks at start-up and continues blinking regardless of engine temp, which is always normal. coolant level is good, coolant mix is correct. must be the gauge, no? i took the instrument cluster off, but stopped short of the circuit board (kind of scared me to go any further). any suggestions if i'm on the right track? could it be the gauge? can this be replaced? difficult job? thanks in advance, kurt _________________________________________________________________ Capture your memories in an online journal! http://www.reallivemoms.com?ocid=TXT_TAGHM&loc=us
